You get one bar of gold for every level you advance. So in theory, if I had never spent any gold, I could buy one special story. However, at first, I spent gold expanding my garden which was a mistake as I now think gold should only be used to buy things that are not available any other way. So I have never done a special story.

You can also get gold by buying it with real money through facebook or by taking advantage of special offers. I did try one special offer (i think it was a gold bar to like a company on facebook). Now (when I don't mess up by clicking on the wrong button) use gold to buy things like the water paths enabler or the kangaroos

Thanks for the insight. But how do you get the items in special stories (like the Christmas and Halloween scenes) without spending money for gold? Isn't that the only way to get gold?

It sounds like just another Facebook application bug. Facebook is a relatively easy place to write games for that work 90 % of the time. The problem is that the other 10 is impossible to get 100 percent right. From what I have heard from people who write Facebook apps, Facebook keeps changing things on them. I would try getting all the way out of facebook and back in. If that does not work, try a different browser or computer, I wish I had access to the code and servers it runs on to try to help. I just played with things and tried to figure out how it worked. I have no inside knowledge. it is frustrating when stuff does not work. There is a place somewhere in the game where you can complain to the GoT developers.

Your explanations about the new wonders upgrades in GOT were very good...however, I have a few questions: after upgrading my Big Ben wonder to level 1, it says I need only 1 of 2 gears to upgrade to level 2, I have all other items already. When I check my inventory however, it says I have 3 gears available to use but it won't let me use these to complete the Big Ben level 2 upgrade...why? Each time I choose the gears from my inventory, it says I need it to upgrade my wonders, to click on "Build" mode & choose a wonder that needs upgrading in order to use it. When I do this, the only choice I get is to ask my neihbors for more gears...WTF??? Think you can help me with this?

Thanks,
Victoria
